Qirou Yang comes from a city located in the south of China. She studied Humanities in U of T for two years before she transferred to OCADU to embrace visual art. Her thesis in OCADU was focus on examining photography’s particular historical association with loss and sorrow, and used it as a representation of the state of consciousness. Her current work involves combinations of darkroom photography, time-based media and performance art. They are often restored as an ongoing process of exploration, discovery, and research.
